Retired Col. Perryman Fisher DuBose, born Dec. 13, 1934, in Logan died May 18, 2003, in Huntington Beach, Calif. He was the son of Bascom Perryman DuBose and Alice Marguerite Fisher DuBose. He graduated from Boise High School in 1952 and from the Citadel in South Carolina in 1956. He served honorably with pride in the Army from 1956 to 1983. His 27 years of service included Officer’s School in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., a master’s degree in political science from the University of Maryland, two tours of duty in Vietnam, two tours of duty in the Pentagon, and three years at NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. Upon retirement from the Army he continued his career as a stockbroker for Dean Witter Reynolds. He married Mary Blanche Polley on Feb. 7, 1959. Perry was a tremendous man, a giant of a man, both inside and out, with a heart the size of Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mary Blanche; children, Mary Marguerite, Grayson Perryman, and Rebecca Polley; sister, Mary Alice Hart; and seven grandchildren. His family will remember him as always being there and supporting them in every aspect of their lives. A graveside service will be held at the Richmond Cemetery on Tuesday, May 27, at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Cranney Mortuary.
