NEUBURGER, Trev SPARTANBURG, SC – Trev Neuburger, formerly of 1115 Woodburn Road, died at peace on July 12, 2007. He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Huntley Neuburger as well as a daughter Harriette Elizabeth Reid and husband Marty and a step-son he raised from youth, William U. Gunn and wife Sarah. Additionally, he leaves grandchildren, William U. Gunn, III, Cameron Nelson Gunn, Elizabeth Kathleen Gunn, Mary Margaret Gunn, Parker Anderson Reid, and Evan Jennings Reid. Trev was born on October 28, 1926 in Spartanburg. He was the son of the late H.T.E. Neuburger and Harritte Anderson Neuburger and was educated in the public schools of Spartanburg County. Upon graduation from Spartanburg High School, he entered The Citadel and his education was interrupted by service in the United States Army. He was discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He reentered The Citadel after the war as a veteran student and received his BS in Business Administration in 1948. At The Citadel, Trev was an intercollegiate boxer of unlimited game and desire. He had also boxed in the military. Subsequent to graduation from The Citadel, he was commissioned as an Officer and served in the South Carolina National Guard as an Artillery Officer in HQ and HQ Battery 1 Bn 178th Field Artillery. After completion of his education, Mr. Neuburger embarked upon a career in the Real Estate and Insurance business. In 1960, he and Victor Montgomery founded Neuburger and Company which was an independent insurance agency and a residential and commercial real estate agency. Neuburger and Company prospered for many years and the insurance agency was eventually sold to Brown and Brown. Trev and his longtime friend and partner, Harold McElhenney, also founded Land Lease Corporation which engaged in commercial real estate development and later also founded Childrens Learning Centers, which was sold in the mid 1980s to a nationally held company. His successes in business were many and varied. In his later years, Trev and his wife Lib spent a great deal of time at their home at Edisto Beach where they enjoyed their pleasure and fishing vessel, family visits, and the many friends they had made in that community. Trev was a member of many professional real estate and insurance organizations and was a former Rotarian and Civitan. He was also a member of the Edisto Island Yacht Club. He was a member of Nazareth Presbyterian Church and a frequent Communicant at Trinity Episcopal Church at Edisto Island. Trev was indeed a man of integrity, intelligence, and good humor and he will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him, though the gift of his life is celebrated by all. The family will receive friends at Nazareth Presbyterian Church today, Sunday, July 15, 2007 from 3:00-4:00 PM. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM, today, Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Billy & Sarah Gunn, of 615 Weymouth Drive, Spartanburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals, P.O.
