Treville Beaufort,SC Date of Death: 02/19/2007 Notice Thomas Bradford de Treville Thomas Bradford de Treville, 55, died on Monday, February 19, 2007 on Lady’s Island, South Carolina. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, Feb. 24, at St. Helena’s Episcopal Church, Beaufort, with interment in the church cemetery. There will be a short reception at St. Helena’s following the service. Mr. de Treville was born on March 31, 1951 in Greenville, Michigan, son of B. Ellis de Treville Jr. of Beaufort & the late Mary Beach of Atlanta, Ga. He was a 1969 graduate of Beaufort High School and a 1973 graduate of the Citadel, where he was a member of the elite Summerall Guards. He was the president of ECO-ENGINE LLC of Beaufort, and APT -å Applied Power Technologies, Inc, of Florida, and was a longtime proponent of the advantages of solar energy and alternative energy resources. Tom de Treville’s enthusiastic and creative approach to marketing alternative energy power and fuels has greatly contributed to solving this country’s need to become energy-independent and become a safer and healthier environment for our citizens. Tom worked closely with Beaufort County and the Home Builders Association of the Lowcountry to help implement remarkable advances in the use of Solar and alternative energy technologies wherever possible. The day before his death, he, sent an email to a cousin closing with a quotation by the New England poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson, which expressed Thomas deTreville’s own philosophy of life . Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Tom was loved and respected by many, and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Ellis de Treville Sr. of Beaufort, and Mr. & Mrs. Ralph B. Beach of Atlanta. He is survived by his brothers and their families: Robert Ellis de Treville, his wife Karen, daughter Annie de Treville Wheeler, and son Thomas Robert Saffold de Treville of Maryland; Ralph Louis de Treville and his daughter Aleshia Elaine de Treville of Florida; David Beach deTreville of Germany, George Goodhart, his wife Kate, daughters Margaret Beach Goodhart, Emily Mae Goodhart, and Elinore Alexander Goodhart of Atlanta; and a sister Lisabeth Parker Enriquez, her daughters Tabitha Morehead and Mary Janet Enriquez, and son PJ Enriquez of Atlanta. his aunt, Ruth deTreville Spieler of Beaufort; his uncles, Dr. Robert T.P. deTreville of San Antonio, Texas, Dr. George Derry Beach of Shreveport, LA, and John Beach of Atlanta, Georgia.
