Bruce C. Felt passed away on Dec. 27, 2011 at Rosemont Assisted Living in Santa Fe, NM, his adopted home since 1993. He was born Dec. 12, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA to Charles F. & Leona (Williams) Felt. He was a U.S. Naval Academy, graduate, Class of 1957. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 20 yrs. on various submarines, the final one being the USS James Madison (SSBN-627)(B) where he served as Commanding Officer until his retirement in 1977. After his retirement from the navy, he attended the Citadel Military College in Charleston, SC where he acquired his MBA degree while starting a career in Real Estate Appraising in which he was a successful Appraiser, specializing in commercial properties for many years and finally transitioning from that into teaching the same accredited course curriculum at the College level, first teaching at the Citadel in Charleston, SC and then ultimately at the Santa Fe Community College from where he retired in 2008. He was a well-respected instructor who earned the admiration of his colleagues and his numerous students throughout his teaching career. He is survived by his wife, Maria; his step-son, J. Scott Mason; his sister, Karen Fisher (Leland); mother-in-law, Rosanna Martinez; brothers-in-law Nick C. Martinez & Nelson Martinez (Gina); and sister-in-law, Deborah Coltrara (David). Bruce will be remembered for his kindness, friendly manner and wit. He never had an unkind word to say about anyone and will be greatly missed. He will be interred at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with full-military honors at a date to be announced.
