Peter P. Pinchera Melbourne Peter P. Pinchera, 77, Melbourne, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Orlando Regional Medical Center. He was the son of Pasquale and Mary Pinchera. Mr. Pinchera and his family moved to Melbourne in 1964, and he was employed by Brevard County Schools as an English teacher at Eau Gallie High School for 30 years. He was the head of the English department, where he mentored many teachers. He coached several sports for the Commodores, including basketball, golf, cross country, and tennis. His education included time at St Thomas Seminary in Connecticut, a degree from University of South Caroli na, and a graduate degree from The Citadel. Prior to college, he spent four years in the US Air Force, mostly in Charleston, SC, where he met his future wife, Ruth Marie Bunny DeStefano. Peter was proceeded in death by his wife Bunny and his son Paul. Survivors include a son, Patrick (Liz) Pinchera; a daughter-in- law, Rosie Pinchera; a brother, Roy Pinchera; and a sister, Patricia (Jack) Scelza. He also has four grandchildren, Patrick, Tori, PJ Pinchera and Zoe Zimmerman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Petes memory to Ascen sion Catholic Church, 2950 N. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32935. A Funeral Mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church on September 21 at 11 a.m. Davis Seawinds is entrusted with the arrangements. Tags: CGC 1973
