Richard Michael Osbourne, Jr., 76, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Michael was born on June 23,1946 in Savannah, GA. He was the son of Richard Michael Osbourne and Jacquelyn Redmond Osbourne. He was predeceased by his wife, Sherrie Osbourne, his parents, his brother, Clyde Redmond Osbourne, and his grandparents, uncles, and aunts. He is survived by his wife, Michele, her son, Damen, and brother-in-law, Ari. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Shumaker (Steven), his nephews, Michael (Melissa), Brian, and sister-in-law, Jill. There are also many other beloved family members and friends. Michael was a 1968 graduate of the Citadel. He was commissioned into the Army. He had a varied career. He was a teacher, worked in shipping, and served the Catholic Church as a Deacon. He served his beloved parish, Stella Maris, for many years. Michael possessed a keen intellect and a great love of history. He was an avid reader. He also possessed a witty sense of humor. He was proud of his southern heritage and was a true southern gentleman. Grand Strand funeral home will handle the arrangements. Michael will be buried at Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, GA. It will be a private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the building fund for the new hall at Stella Maris Catholic Church.
