William Marion Scott Jr., 82, of 308 Southway St., husband of the late Evelyn Marie Crane Scott, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2004, at his home. Born in Bishopville, the son of the late William M. and Dorothy Owens Scott, Mr. Scott graduated from the Citadel, Class of 1941 and was employed with J.E. Sirrine Company in Greenville for 32 years. He was a member of Easley Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and an Elder. Mr. Scott was a member of the Easley Lions Club and served with the U.S. Army Engineering Corps where he was stationed in China during World War II. Surviving are a son, Dr. William M. Scott III and his wife, Katherine of Easley; a daughter, Dolly Scott Hester of Easley; six grandchildren, Jennifer Scott Blakley, John Montgomery Scott, Mitchell Hester, Sara Katherine, Katherine Braddock and Elizabeth Braddock. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Scott was predeceased by a son, John Montgomery Scott and by two sisters, Mary Scott Chastain and Dorothy Scott Carr. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Easley Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Bill Seel and the Rev. Linda Sharp officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Parlor of the church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621 or to Easley Presbyterian Church, 200 South First St., Easley, SC 29640. The family is at the residence. Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.
