William Lucas Bruns, M.D. Augusta, Ga. William Lucas Bruns, M.D., died December 26, 2005. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Day Bruns. Funeral services were held graveside at the Episcopal Church of our Savior in Trenton, S.C., on Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at 4 p.m. The Reverend Janet Tarbox officiated. Other survivors include two daughters, Shelton Bruns Milner and her husband, Steve Milner, of Charleston and Gwinn Bruns Volen and her husband, Paul Volen, of Pasadena, Calif., and a grandson, William Lucas Volen. Dr. Bruns was a graduate of the Citadel and the Medical University of South Carolina. His internship was at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. After serving two years in the Army, he completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Bruns then joined OB/GYN Associates of Augusta, where he practiced for 30 years until his retirement in 1997. Dr. Bruns was a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.
