William (Bill) James Matheny, 79, of Monroe, Ga., died August 21, 2008. Born January 28, 1929 in Augusta, Ga., son of the late James Theodore and Pauline Senn Matheny, Mr. Matheny was a graduate of the Citadel. He is survived by his wife, Carol Lark Matheny of Monroe; son, Ben Matheny of Winder; son and daughter-in-law, David and Resa Matheny of Dacula; sister, Barbara Sidener Hanshew of Thomson, Ga.; grandchildren, Julie Matheny, Emily Matheny, and Nikita Hanscom all of Dacula. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30th at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Meadows Funeral Home, the Rev. Frank Johnson officiating. Family will receive visitors Saturday, August 30th at Meadows Funeral Home from 12:00 until 2:00 P.M.
