William B. “”Bud”” Boyte, 67, of Lake Wales, Fla., passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at The Groves Center due to heart failure. He was born November 4, 1941 in Lake Wales to the late William F. & Katherine Boyte, Jr.; he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was the owner/operator of Boyte’s Auto Supply, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales and served in the U.S. Army. He was a 1963 graduate of Citadel with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He was a past president of the Lake Wales Kiwanis Club and a past member of the Moose Lodge #2391 in Lake Wales. He enjoyed golfing and traveling and was an avid Gator’s fan. Survivors include his wife, Jean B. Boyte; son, William B. “”Bo”” Boyte Jr. of Lake Wales; step-sons, Kenneth Lee of Birmingham, AL and Curtis Lee of Lake City; sister, Lyn Greene of St. Petersburg; aunt, Hazel Alexander of Lake Wales; 2 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the Lake Wales Cemetery with Rev. Jeffrey Kantz officiating.
