KINARD, JR., Willard The family of Bill Kinard, 66, regret to announce his death on the afternoon of Thursday, April 5, 2007 after a difficult illness. His memorial service will be 1:00 o’clock P.M., Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Rhett Avenue Christian Church, 5103 N. Rhett Ave., North Charleston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory are suggested to American Heart Assn., 409 King St., Ste. 300, Charleston SC 29403 or American Diabetes Assn., Devine St., Columbia SC 29204 with acknowledgements to the family at 1125 North Blvd., North Charleston SC 29405. Bill was born in Charleston on December 26, 1940, son of the late Willard Grady Kinard, Sr. and Mary Sapp Kinard. He was a graduate of North Charleston High School and The Citadel, Class of 1962. After serving as an officer in the U.S. Army in Europe he returned to Charleston to begin his career in education and later earned his masters degree at The Citadel. In his career Bill served as teacher and principal at schools throughout the Lowcountry including Stall High, Garrett High, Bonds-Wilson High, Walterboro Middle, Norman C. Toole Middle and St. George Elementary. He retired from education in 1992. He is survived by his life partner, Mary Jo Dellucci, daughter, Roberta Nell Robbie Kinard of North Charleston, two brothers, William Robert Kinard and his wife, Susan, of Isle of Palms and Michael T. Kinard of North Charleston, and a sister, Donna Kinard Gonzales and her husband, Stephen, of North Charleston. Also surviving are seven nieces and nephews, many friends, former students, and professional colleagues. Arrangements were made through PALMETTO CREMATION SOCIETY of Charleston, SC.
