HAYNSWORTH, Waties Entered into eternal rest on the afternoon of January 14, 2008, Reverend Waties Rees Haynsworth, widower of Ruth Daniell Haynsworth. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services Thursday, January 17, 2008 at ten-thirty o’clock in The Chapel at Bishop Gadsden. Clergy of Diocese will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will take place in The Church of the Holy Cross Churchyard in Stateburg, SC at two-thirty o’clock. The Reverend Mr. Haynsworth was born June 16, 1913 in Sumter, SC, the son of Joseph Herbert Haynsworth and Katherine Sumter Haynsworth. He was a 1935 graduate of The Citadel and a 1938 graduate of University of The South Seminary. He was a member of The Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul. Father Haynsworth was a retired Episcopal Clergyman. The Churches he served included, St. Mathias in Summerton, St. Marks in Pinewood, Epiphany in Eutawville, Advent in Marion and St. Johns in Charleston. He served as Secretary of the Diocesan Convention and Executive Secretary of the Diocese. He was a member of The Society of Cincinnati, The Society of the High Hills of Santee and the Advancement Society of the Diocese. He is survived by three step-grandchildren: Bobby Marion, Joe Marion and Beth M. Turner; one brother: Right Reverend G. Edward Haynsworth of Charleston, SC; three nephews: George E. Haynsworth, Jr., Richard D. Haynsworth and Stephen A. Haynsworth; seven great nieces and nephews.
