Lt. Col. Wallace Jon “Robbie” Robertson, 58, of Williamsburg, VA was welcomed home by the Lord on August 4th, 2020. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Alida Alexandra “Sandy” Robertson and Col. Frank Jay Robertson and brother, Frank Jay Robertson, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children Matthew Smith, Nicholas Smith, Amy Fisk (Jef), Hilary Hunt (Chris), and Amanda Robertson (Tony); and his grandchildren Mason, Carson, Easton, and Hazel. He also leaves behind many whom he called his brothers and sisters, friends, and church family. Growing up in a military family, Robbie had many memorable experiences around the world. His favorite being his high school years in Turkey, where he cultivated his love for the game of soccer, football, and Mediterranean cuisine and culture. Robbie attended The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, where he participated in Junior Sword Drill; one of the most rigorous accomplishments in his college life. He became a proud father to Amy and Amanda at an early age and started his military career in the U.S. Army. Robbie completed Army Ranger School, served in Operation Desert Storm, and was deployed numerous times throughout his service. He received many meritorious and achievement awards including a Bronze Star Medal. Robbie continued his commitment to the Army in his civilian career, dedicating himself to serving our soldiers and transforming Army logistics. Robbie gave heart and soul in service to his country and also to his family. He and his loving wife Cindy enjoyed 18 years of marriage, and together they dedicated their lives to their children and grandchildren. He was a member of Olive Branch Christian Church where he served as Elder and enthusiastically shared his passion for Christ and love for the word. Robbie had many friends and considered them all as his family. He was generous, selfless, a faithful friend, and a hard worker. He had a knack for connecting with people of all ages and backgrounds, and all who knew him will remember his sense of humor and heartwarming smile. He loved deeply, was loved deeply, and will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on August 9th at Vincent Funeral Home, Providence Forge, VA. ***Due to Covid-19, masks are required, seating will be limited, and social distancing will be practiced.*** In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Relay For Life American Cancer Society or Olive Branch Christian Church in Williamsburg, VA.
