Dave Gale, 80, died peacefully after a sudden illness on April 16, 2016. He was a dynamic and spiritual man who lived life to the fullest. During the last 18 years, Dave and his wife, Suzannah, have have been running The Home Port Inn in Lubec, ME. Dave was a graduate of The Citadel and Georgia Tech in Civil Engineering. His early career days were in Atlanta, GA, owning his own construction company. The seventies took him to Helen, GA where he established The Wildwood Shop, bringing whitewater paddling On the Chattahoochee River, backpacking on The Appalachian Trail and gave runners “The Hog Pen Hill Climb”. Another decade later saw him managing heavy construction projects that took him and Suzannah on many wonderful adventures in different parts of the country. He was a great leader of men, and had a keen intellect and a wonderful sense of humor.
Dave is survived by his wife, Suzannah and 6 adult children, all of whom loved him very much.
A memorial service for Dave will be held at The Lubec Congregational Church at 2 PM on Saturday, April 30. – See more at:
