Timothy Oneal Blakely, 60, of Hanahan, passed away on December 28, 2023 with family by his side. He was born on October 8, 1963 in Roper Hospital Charleston, SC. with spina bifida. Tim was the March of Dimes Poster Child for the year of 1968. Tim was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church and currently a member of the deacon ministry. He also taught Sunday School at previous churches. He attended the Hanahan area schools and graduated from Baptist College at Charleston. Tim went on to receive his MBA from the Citadel. Tim was employed with civil service for 35 years in the accounting department at SPAWAR. Tim retired December 31, 2019. Tim lived an extraordinary life and was an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Tim is survived by his loving parents, Beverly and Jo Ann. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Arthur and Louise Blakely and his maternal grandparents, Richard and Doris Wheeler. All of his grandparents loved him dearly! Visitation will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church on Tuesday January 2, 2024 from 12:30 – 2:00PM. Service will also be at Highland Park Baptist Church from 2:00 – 3:00PM with interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Ave. Flowers and any memorials can be sent to Highland Park Baptist Church.
