Timm Wesley Gipe, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, known affectionately as “Goatman,” passed away at home on March 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
A reception to Celebrate his Life will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2025, between 4:00 and 6:00 PM at Hibernian Hall, 105 Meeting Street.
Timm was born on April 15, 1947, in Noblesville, IN, a son of Saramae Venable Gipe and Julius Fletcher Gipe. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in Sumter, SC in 1965 and went on to attend The Citadel, where he graduated in 1969. He became a licensed real estate broker in 1973. Timm had a distinguished career and a profound impact on his community. His dedication to his profession was recognized on multiple occasions, serving as the President of the Charleston Trident Board of Realtors in 1983 and being honored with the Realtor Emeritus status by the National Association of Realtors in 2013. Additionally, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Carolina One Real Estate. Timm was an honorary life member of the Hibernian Society. His legacy is marked not only by his professional achievements, but also by the deep and lasting relationships he fostered with his family and friends. His presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
Timm is survived by his wife, Marty Gipe; his daughters, Krysten Hariri (Perry) and Sarah Gipe Yandle (Jeff); his sons, Scott Connell (Heather) and Billy Connell (Ashley); his brother, Tomm Gipe (Melinda) and his nine grandchildren, were is pride and joy. He was also a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
