Tom was raised in Decatur, GA and graduated from Decatur High School, The Citadel and received a Masters Degree in Political Science from Vanderbilt University. He served in the U.S. Army. He began his 40 plus years of work at The Coca-Cola Company in the investigative department (Trade Research) of the Legal Division in 1954. Several years later, Tom joined the Bottler Operations Department of the Company and worked in Minneapolis and Memphis before coming to headquarters in Atlanta. He was an important part of the Mainstream Bottler Council which dealt with over 100 independent bottlers of the Company. Always an avid outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed running, cross country skiing, as well as hunting and fishing in Canada, North and South America. After retiring, he traveled the world with friends and former Coca-Cola employees. When not on the go, you could generally find him enjoying quiet time with a good book. Regardless of his personal agenda, Tom was always available to help family and friends. By keeping his keen sense of humor, optimism and determination, Tom was courageous in his battle against COPD and congestive heart failure. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family members.
