On Saturday, December 22, 2012, Theresa Noll Winders, of Summerville, went to be with her lord and savior Jesus Christ. Theresa was born in the District of Columbia on July 19, 1956 to Joseph and Vivian Noll. The family moved to Summerville, SC in 1965 and made that their permanent home. Theresa, who knew from an early age that she wanted to teach, went on to graduate from Summerville High in 1974, receive her Bachelor Degree in Business Education from the University of South Carolina in 1978 and a Masters degree from The Citadel in 1995. She taught in both Charleston and Dorchester Counties and loved teaching and working with her students. Theresa enjoyed crafting, animals and had a quick sense of humor. In 2009, she was diagnosed with cancer and that same cancer is what has ultimately claimed her life. She is survived by her parents, Joseph and Vivian Noll, her husband Curtis Winders; sons Clifton Matthews (Katherine), Kurtis Matthews and Kelly Winders (Ashley); daughters Brandie Bowman and Casey Winders; her brother Michael Noll and his wife Joannie; her sister Debbie Curley and her husband Jim; grandchildren Gage and Gavin Matthews; Daisy and Lilly Winders; Brandlyn, Darus and Summer Winders; niece Katie Curley; nephews John Curley, Dustin Kelly and Andi Afsar. Visitation will be on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 6 – 9 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home in Summerville. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, December 29, 2012 at 1 o’clock also at Parks Funeral Home with Pastor Peppy DuTart officiating. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery. The family invites all of Theresa’s friends and relations to come honor her life with them and requests that instead of flowers that donations be made to the Breast Navigation Program, in care of the Roper St. Francis Foundation, 316 Calhoun Street, Charleston SC 29401.
