BROOKS, MR. TERRY MICHAEL, age 62, of Charleston, South Carolina, died March 31, 2002. Mr. Brooks was a graduate of The Citadel and the University of South Carolina Law School. While serving in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. He continued his legal career with the U.S. Department of Labor and later as an attorney in private practice in Nashville, TN specializing in Labor and Employment Law. Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Lovic Alton Brooks, Sr. and Margaret Haley Brooks. Survivors include his son, Dr. Terry Michael Brooks, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Leslie Denton Brooks of Birmingham; sister, Shirley Brooks Hildebrand (Jack) of Alexandria, VA; brothers, Lovic Alton Brooks, Jr. (Carrie Alice) of Atlanta, GA, Dan Winston Brooks (Joyce) of Westminster, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at Ridout’s Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Mr. Brooks’ favorite charities, the Alzheimer’s Association or the Martha O’Bryan Center, 711 South 7th Street, Nashville, TN 37206.
