Teresa Miles Jones, 61, of Goose Creek, the wife of Earl R. Jones, Jr., died Monday, September 27, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 10, 1949, in Florence, South Carolina; she was the daughter of Lillie Wright Miles and the late Herbert H. Miles. The world lost a great woman; she truly cared more about other people than herself. “Tricky” as she was known to her family and friends was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and was a lifelong Gamecock Fan. She also earned a Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling from The Citadel. She was a retired teacher and guidance counselor; having worked at College Park Elementary and Charleston Southern University. She is survived by her mother, Lillie of Lake City; husband of 37 years, Earl; son, Jarred and his wife Christy of Goose Creek; a brother: Legrand Miles of Lake City; two sisters: Dean Pattillo and her husband George of Florence and Sara Baker and her husband James of Hanahan. Teresa’s family wishes to thank Dr. George Giels, Jr. and the Roper Hospital BMT Unit nurses for the loving care she received during her lengthy stay.
