Thurman Kevin Adams, 54, of Chapin, died on Monday, June 19, 2017, in Palmetto Health Parkridge in Columbia, SC, following a short battle with cancer. Kevin was born in Columbia, SC, March 22, 1963, to Erma Cromer Adams Johnson and the late Thurman F. Adams. He grew up in Newberry, graduated from Newberry High School and was a proud graduate of The Citadel, class of 1985. He was employed in sales management with Creative Bus Sales, was a member of River City Family Chapel and the Tuesday Morning Men’s Bible Focus Ministry. . Kevin loved life, had an unforgettable glow about him with a big smile and contagious laugh. He never met a stranger and if you met him, you never forgot Kevin. He was the life of the party and guaranteed everyone had a great time. And he was a loving person, a non-judgmental and loyal friend, a man full of compassion who would do anything for others. His favorite things in life were spending time with his daughters, enjoying every water sport, and playing pool. He treasured all the wonderful friends who shared life with him. Eight bells to Kevin. Survivors include daughters, Morgan Adams of South Beach, Miami and Sydney Adams of Charleston; mother, Erma Johnson of Irmo; aunts and uncles, Charles and Lou Doolittle of Pomaria, Dennis and Vickie Bost of Columbia and Dr. Jim and Cindy Wilkes of Harlem, GA; and many treasured cousins. He is also survived by his loving furry companion, Happy. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, John Earl and Margaret Cromer, and Clarence and Mary Adams. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the Whitaker Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry, SC, conducted by the Rev. Brad Bird.
