Stephen R. Fabian, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away Friday, June 10 2011, at his home. He was born April 2, 1919 in New Castle, Pa. to the late Stephen and Julia Fabian. Graduate of The Citadel Military College in 1949 after serving his Country from April 1942 to December 1945, as a 2nd Lieutenant, B-17 Flying Fortress Pilot in the Army Air Corps, 8th Air Force, 384th Bomb Group, 544th Squadron, spending his last 22 months as a POW in Germany in Stalag Luft 3 prison camp and he was liberated from Stalag Luft 7A for Air Force Servicemen by General Patton. He was very proud of his service for his Country, as was his family of him. An active member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Steve was a much loved husband, father, and grandfather. Preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Regina. Survived by his sons, Mark Fabian and Jim (Kim) Fabian; grandchildren, Lindsay and Derek Fabian. Friends may call at the MORELAND FUNERAL HOME, 55 E. Schrock Rd. Westerville, Tuesday, 2-4 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State Street, Westerville, Wednesday, at 10 a.m., Rev. Fr. Dan Dury, celebrant.
