Samuel Dwight Causey, Sr., age 91, husband of Virginia Lightsey Causey, died September 6, 2023, at his residence.
Mr. Causey was a native of Fairfax, SC. and the son of the late Herbert G. Causey, DDS, and Merle Ginn Causey. He was a graduate of The Citadel. He served in the SC National Guard, he was a former member of the Allendale County Council, and a former member of the Allendale County Developmental Board, past chairman of SC Rural Physicians Board.
He retired as executive director of the Allendale County Family Practice Center, and he was a member of the Fairfax First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Fairfax First Baptist Church with the Reverend Asbury Lawton officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am before the service at the church.
Family members include his wife, Virginia Lightsey Causey, 2 sons, Samuel Dwight Causey, Jr. and Herbert Lamar Causey, 2 daughters, Virginia C. Lunday (Terry) and Rachel C. Casanova (Chris),
and 8 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother, H. Gregg Causey and 1 sister, Charlotte .C Frierson.
