Samuel Jervey DuPre III, husband of Ann Hall Waring DuPre, died peacefully on November 3, 2016 in Mount Pleasant, SC. The family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Jervey DuPre are invited to attend the graveside services in Old St. David’s Cemetery, Cheraw, SC on Monday, November 7, 2016 at one o’clock. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at two o’clock in St. Philip’s Church, Charleston, SC. Mr. DuPre was born May 22, 1945, in Bennettsville, SC, a son of Samuel Jervey DuPre, Jr. and Blanche Kinsey Evans DuPre. He was a graduate of North Carolina State University and received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from The Citadel. While serving in the US Navy in San Diego, California Mr. DuPre began his love for sailing and continued this pursuit in Charleston forging many lifelong friendships. He was a nuclear engineer and owner of Program Services, Inc. After retirement Mr. DuPre became an avid bicyclist. He enjoyed the sport and friends he made through it immensely. He was a member of St. Philip’s Church, Sea Island Yacht Club, Carolina Yacht Club, and the Huguenot Society of South Carolina. He is survived by his wife of Mount Pleasant, SC; a daughter, Elizabeth DuPre Brown and her husband Alton of Mount Pleasant, SC; one granddaughter, Eliza DuPre Brown; a brother, Thomas Evans DuPre and his wife Meri; a sister, Mildred DuPre Kitchell and her husband Rusty.
