Ruby Sessions Hart, 68, wife of Douglas A. Hart, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at her home.
Born on January 5, 1956, in Georgetown, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Willard Sessions and the late Lois Faulk Sessions. Mrs. Hart devoted her life to education, spending many fulfilling years teaching early childhood education in Horry and Georgetown County schools. Her passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning was evident in her work, leaving a lasting impact on countless students.
An avid learner herself, Ruby received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and her master’s in reading from The Citadel, further demonstrating her commitment to lifelong education. Her dedication to both her studies and her students exemplified her belief in the transformative power of knowledge.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ruby found joy in the simple pleasure of reading. Her love for literature was a reflection of her curiosity about the world and her desire for continual growth. This passion not only enriched her own life but also inspired those around her to explore the pages of books and expand their horizons.
Survivors include her husband of Georgetown; two sons, Joshua Hart (Madalina) of Wilmington and Patrick Hart (Darby) of Columbia; two sisters, Joyce Glenn (Bob) of Georgetown and Elizabeth Johnson of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Friday, November 8, 2024, at Screven Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
