Rodney Harold Mount, 86, of Cope, SC, passed away, Wednesday, June 3, 2020. He was married to the late Patricia Riplese Mount for 59 years. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Rodney was born in Charleston, SC, to the late Eugene Clarence Mount and Hermine Fogle Mount. He served as a Sergeant with the Marines in Korea and in 1958 he graduated with a B. S. Degree from the Citadel. He retired as District Manager for Western Union. Rodney was a former roller skating champion of Charleston and considered himself the “stud” of Folly Beach in the 1940’s and 50’s. He enjoyed being with his family and friends. He also loved gardening and his animals. Survivors include his three daughters, Jennifer Mount (Joe) of Oxford, NJ, Sarah Alexander of Cope, SC and Meg Schiro (David) of New Egypt, NJ.; two sons, Charles Mount (Arden) of Van Nuys, CA and John Mount of Freehold, NJ; four grandchildren, Dillon Mount, Emily Mount, Jeremiah Alexander and Abbey Schiro; a brother, Ronald Mount of North Charleston, SC; a sister, Carole Davis of James Island, SC. In addition to his wife and parents, Rodney was predeceased by a son, Andrew Mount and his son-in-law, Bruce Alexander.. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P. O.
