A funeral service for LTC Robin Bryan Rhodes, U.S. Army (Ret.), 75, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family. LTC Rhodes died Sunday, April 17, 2022. Born in Hartsville, he was a son of the late Cecil Calvin and Loretta Elmore Rhodes. A veteran of the Viet Nam War, he graduated from Edmonds High School in Sumter and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in 1968. He graduated from The Citadel with a Masters of Teaching degree in 1974. In 1982 he earned a Master of Arts degree from Central Michigan University, where he also taught military science. He was a member of Shady Grove UMC and Masonic Lodge Boyleston Lodge # 123. He loved playing golf and all things Clemson. Surviving are his wife, of 53 years, Jeannette Harrelson Rhodes; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rhodes Townsend (Michael) of Irvine, CA; grandchildren, Bryan Rhodes Townsend of Raleigh, NC, Nolan Ross Townsend of Irvine, CA, David Eli Townsend of Irvine, CA; sister, Laura Rhodes Staples; nephews, Bryan Sean Staples and Andrew Kyle Staples (Brittany), all of Columbia.
