Robert “Bob” Strous, of Isle of Palms, died Tuesday, August 6. Bob, a son of Jane Strous and the late Robert T. Strous, Sr., was born in Williamsport, PA. Upon graduation from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, Bob taught advanced physics for several years in Elmira, New York. His graduate work included a Masters degree from Clarkson College and certification as an administrator from The Citadel. Bob moved to Charleston, SC and began a career as a school administrator. He was employed as an assistant principal of several schools and principal of Laing Middle School. Bob also served as principal of Wando High School, and as an Area Superintendent with the Charleston County School District. Bob travelled to many countries and strongly believed in lifelong learning. He enjoyed watching and playing tennis with his many friends. Bob’s kind and positive attitude will be greatly missed. Bob is survived by his wife, Stephanie Strous, mother, Jane Strous, two brothers, Luther Strous, (Linda), and Richard Strous. He also is survived by seven nieces and nephews. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later time.
