Dr. Robert Olin Carlisle, Jr., 82, husband of Cora Clamp Carlisle, of 1 Carlisle Drive died Friday, June 01, 2007 at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson. Born in Carteret, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Robert Olin Carlisle, Sr. and Olive Adams Carlisle. He was educated in the Carteret, N.J. and Ware Shoals, S.C. schools, a graduate of the Citadel, and the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery – University of Maryland. He practiced Dentistry in Honea Path, S.C. from 1954 until 2003.He was a member of the Honea Path First Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon, Trustee on the Building and Finance Committees, and Pulpit Committees. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946 as an Aviation Machinist Mate Third Class. He was a member of the Piedmont Dental Association, S.C. Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the American Motorcycle Riders Association. Surviving are his wife of the home, one son, Robert Olin Carlisle, III and wife Amy of Honea Path, one daughter, Abbie Lou Carlisle Burdette and husband David of Greenville, two grandchildren, Andrew David Burdette and Avery Danielle Burdette both of Greenville. He was pre-deceased by a brother, William Mitchell Carlisle and three sisters, Thelma C. George, Edythe C. Madden, and Eugenia C. Overstreet. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Moody officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 P.M. Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family is at the home.
