Richard Walter Arnold Jr., 33, husband of Jennifer Gillespie Arnold, passed away at his residence. Born in Knob Noster, Mo., he was the son of Richard W. Sr. and Alexa Acker Arnold of Greenville. A 1993 graduate of The Citadel, Mr. Arnold received a Bachelors Degree in Business. He was a cadet officer and was a member of the Sumerall Guard. He was employed as Senior Loan Officer with Sallie Mae Mortgage. Mr. Arnold was a member of Berea First Baptist Church, where he was involved in the choirs, R.A.?s and church sports. Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are a sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Tim Burnett of Greenville; a niece, Kassadi Burnett of Greenville; and a nephew, Kalab Burnett of Greenville. Memorials may be made to the Endowment of The Citadel, 171 Moultrie St., Charleston, SC 29409. Visitation will be held today, Jan. 26, 2005, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
