Raymond J. Tartaro 73, of Slab Meadow Rd. passed away peacefully Friday May 30th surrounded by his family at VITAS Innovative Hospice. He was the husband of Judith (Turmel) Tartaro Mr. Tartaro was born in Bridgeport January 21, 1941, son of the late Domenic and Gertrude (Deveaux) Tartaro. He was raised in Bridgeport and had lived in Morris since 1972. He received a BS in History from The Citadel in South Carolina and his Master’s degree in public administration from the University of Hartford. He served in the US Army Reserves. Mr. Tartaro retired from the Waterbury Police Department as a Captain, after retiring from the police department he became and IRS agent and retired 9 years ago. Besides his wife he leaves 3 daughters, Kelly Langlais and her husband Mark of Morris, Karrie Tartaro and her husband Scott Tordoff of Madison, Kacie Carter and her husband Christopher of Chesnee SC, a brother Roy Tartaro of California, 2 sisters, Donna Basile of SC and Doreen Munsell of Waterford, and 6 grandchildren, Landrey, Kaleigh, Noah, Payton, Grant, and Bryce. Funeral Services and Burial are private and at the convenience of the family. The Hickcox Funeral Home 195 Main St Watertown has been entrusted with the arrangements.
