Raymond E. Toth, 85, of Torringford West Street, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Mr. Toth was born in Torrington, June 15, 1923, son of the late George Toth Sr. and Elizabeth (Liptak) Toth. He was a World War II U.S. Navy and Air Force Veteran. Mr. Toth earned both a M.D. and Ph.D and held degrees from the Citadel, Columbia University and the University of Berlin in Switzerland, with postdoctoral work at Yale University. Dr. Toth practiced in both Switzerland and Germany and worked with several medical practices in Connecticut. Survivors include eleven nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was pre-deceased by sisters Mary Weiman, Rose Toth and Evelyn Nebiolo and brothers Joseph, Stephen, George, Louis and William as well as a nephew. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 10:15 a.m. from The Gleeson Mortuary, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Peter’s Church, 107 E. Main St. Torrington, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington.
