Ralph Harry Harbeson, 87, husband of Erline Hilton Harbeson, of 1848 Highway 15 North, St. George, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Trident Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Bethany Cemetery in Charleston, SC with the Reverends Larry Sprague and John Hucks officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM and at 6:30 P.M. Eastern Star Rites will be held at Bryant Funeral Home, St. George. Ralph was born on July 18, 1925 in Charleston, a son of the late Harry McLloyd and Anna Wagers Harbeson. He was a 1943 graduate of North Charleston High School, 1956 graduate of The Citadel and retired after 29 years of service with CSX /Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. He served in the Navy and was a WW II and Korean Conflict Veteran. He was a member of Harleyville Southern Methodist Church, where he served on Board of Stewards, a Life Member of the Association of Citadel Men, Life Member and former Post Commander of the American Legion Post 105, Life Member of Sons of Confederate Veterans, S.C.V., Member of Harmony Lodge #61 AFM, Life Member of Scottish Rites, Sam Rittenberg Valley of Charleston, Life Member of Morocco Temple, Jacksonville, FL, member and former Marshall of Eastern Star Chapter #160 in St. George. He was predeceased by a son, Rodney Steven Harbeson. Surviving is his wife, Erline Hilton Harbeson; a son, Timothy D.(Paula) Harbeson, Irmo; a daughter, Diane H. (Joe) Zielinski, St. George; grandchildren, Steven (Courtney) Heulett, Asheville, NC and Karen Tara (Keith) Knight, Pooler, GA; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna Victoria Knight; brother, Everette McCoy (Joyce) Harbeson, Kill Devil Hills, NC; two sisters, Thelma H. (Jimmie) Mitchum and Janell H. (Dwayne) Meador, both of N. Charleston. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Harleyville Southern Methodist Church, 138 Second Bend road, P.O.
