Preston C. P.C. Brown Jr. LAKE CITY / Chaplain Preston C. P.C. Brown Jr., 76, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004 in MUSC, Charleston, after an illness. Mr. Brown was born in Olanta, a son of the late Preston C. Brown and Felicia Hicks Brown. He was a 1950 graduate of The Citadel and a 1957 graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky. He served in the US Army Ordinance, and was a Chaplain in the US Air Force, retired as a Colonel after 30 years of military service. He was a member of the Lake City First Baptist Church and the Jeffords Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Lake City Rotary Club, the V.F.W. American Legion, Saturday Morning Prayer Breakfast Club and the IGA Morning Coffee Club. Mrs. Brown served as an Interim Pastor for several area churches during his retirement. Survivors include, his wife, Doris Gene Bowman Brown of Lake City; one son, John Preston Brown of Lake City; one daughter, Karen Elizabeth Brown (Shawn) Pollard of Lake City; one grandson, Sean Brandon McKissick; one granddaughter, Haley Elizabeth McKissick; one sister, Felicia E. Brown (R.L.) McElveen of Lake City; one brother, Wilbur Boyd (Retha) Brown of Lake City; one foster sister, Catherine B. (Rev. Robert E.) Lee of North Myrtle Beach; three nieces and one nephew. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, in the Lake City First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
