Taylor, 56, a resident of Dracut, formerly of Charleston, S.C., who was a Vietnam War veteran, died unexpectedly Friday, June 22, at Lowell General Hospital.He was the husband of Karen (Osborne) Taylor of Charleston, S.C.He was born in St. Matthews, S.C., on March 15, 1951, son of Mary Ruth (Copeland) Taylor of Columbus, Ohio, and the late Rev. Wallace Taylor. He graduated from St. Matthews High School in St. Matthews, S.C. He received a bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.Mr. Taylor was a retired brigadier general from the U.S. Marine Corps, and served in the Vietnam War.Currently, Mr. Taylor worked at the University of Massachusetts Medical in Boston’s Charlestown.In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and chopping wood. He was an avid golfer.Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his beloved daughter, Jessica Taylor, Ph.D. of Charleston, S.C.; a brother and his wife, Gary Douglas and Marianne Taylor of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister and her husband, Nancy and Michael Kiser of Columbus, Ohio.He also leaves his extended family, Christopher and William Kazalski, Paul and Debbie Kazalski, Michael Garity, all of Dracut, and Linda and Thomas Battle of Groton.His other extended family members included the late Kathy Garity of Dracut, and the late Babci.
