Services for Patricia Faris Trayer, 87, of Lexington, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Barr-Price Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with burial to follow in St. Stephens Lutheran Church Cemetery of Lexington, SC. Memorials may be made to Babcock Center, West Columbia, SC 29170. Mrs. Trayer died Wednesday, February 5, 2020 after an extended illness. Born in Columbia, SC she was a daughter of the late Verna DeHardt and Andral P. Faris, Sr. She was a 1951 graduate of Newberry High School, 1955 graduate of Newberry College earning a BS Degree, and a 1982 graduate of The Citadel with a Master of Education Degree. Mrs. Trayer was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church and was a retired teacher. Survivors include grandsons, Michael A. Melton and Kendall Llera. brother, Andral P. Faris, II, niece, Dixie Faris Amick (Dewey), Conner E. Faulk, nephews, Andral P. Faris, III (Denise), Timothy Niemeyer, Tyler F. Faulk (Ashlyn), and a great-nephew, Greyson Faulk. She was predeceased by a daughter, Rose Marie Llera, sons, William Faris Ivy “Billy” and LeGrand Richard Ivy “Ricky”, grandson, Julian Llera, and a sister, Linda F. Niemeyer. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff at JF Hawkins Nursing Home of Newberry, SC, Dr. Stan McCloy, the Reverend David Deming and the care givers at All Seasons Hospice of Irmo, SC.
