Citadel graduates volunteered with Allied forces prior to America's entry into World War I, were on the first American convoys that sailed off to war on June 13, 1917, and participated and distinguished themselves in most of the major battles of World War I. In all, 316 Citadel graduates served in World War I, 277 as commissioned officers. The Hawaii Citadel Club is active again and rebuilding its network across the islands. James Jenkins, '16, has stepped in as the new club lead on Oahu. The club is reconnecting with alumni statewide, from the Class of 1962 to the Class of 2025, and welcomes any grad living in Hawaii, stationed in the islands, PCSing their way, or just passing through.
