Ottis McCoy McCOY, Ottis Ottis Albert McCoy, formerly of Charleston, SC, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 in Louisville, KY. Relatives and friends of Mr. & Mrs. Ottis McCoy are invited to attend the funeral services of the former in Pinecrest Baptist Church, Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Two O’clock. Interment, Carolina Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., WEST ASHLEY CHAPEL, Wednesday from Five-thirty until Nine O’clock. Ottis was born in Miley, SC, January 21, 1925, the son of the late Carl Luther McCoy and Bertha Gooding McCoy. He was a graduate of Summerville High School and the Citadel. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII and the Korean War. He retired with 40 years of government service from the Charleston Naval Shipyard’s Rigger Shop as a general foreman. Ottis was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of North Charleston, where he taught Sunday School. In later years, he was an active member and Deacon at Pinecrest Baptist Church of Charleston and became a member of Highview Baptist Church in Louisville. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Elma Parker McCoy of Louisville, KY; 1 son, Glenn Albert McCoy and his wife Donna of Louisville, KY; 1 daughter, Gail McCoy of Louisville, KY; 1 grandson, Elliott Albert McCoy of Louisville, KY.
