Hale Almand Jr., of Macon, Ga., passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013. Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Almand was born in Atlanta, GA. and was raised in Pavo, GA. and Warner Robins, GA. Mr. Almand’s parents were Otis Hale Almand, Sr. and Mrs. Doris Rowland Almand. Mr. Almand graduated from Riverside Academy, Gainesville/Miami and The Citadel, Charleston, S. C. After graduating from The Citadel, he joined the Army and was on active duty in Vietnam. He received an Honorable Discharge from the Army and attended the Walter F. George School of Law in 1967. In 1970, he served as Editor-in-Chief, Mercer Law Review. He graduated with highest honors from the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University, J.D. Upon graduation from Law School he served as Law Clerk under Honorable William Augustus Bootle. He also served in the Army Reserves while working for Judge Bootle. After serving with Judge Bootle for several years, he served in the U. S. Attorney’s Office in Macon as a Special Assistant Attorney General until he left to go into private practice. He remained in private practice until his death. Mr. Almand is survived by his wife Marjorie Morgan Almand, three children Bond Hale Almand, Lindsey Almand Davis and Coleman Morgan Almand. He has six grandchildren: Bond, Bryant, Fletcher, Taylor, Karley and Emma. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity .
