Nicholas Irving Jones died peacefully in Nashville, TN on May 20, 2017 at the age of eighty-two. Nicholas is survived by his children, David S. Jones of Tampa, FL and Bruce H. Jones of Nashville, TN and four grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian O. Jones and son, Brian D. Jones. Nicholas was born on August 31, 1934 in Moncks Corner, S.C. to Frank Joel Jones and Edna Wyndham Jones. Nicholas graduated from The Citadel in 1956 and completed dental school at the University of Maryland – Baltimore in 1960. Nicholas married Lillian, who moved from New York, N. Y. to Charleston, in 1963 to settle and eventually raise their three sons. Nicholas opened his dental practice in North Charleston, S.C. and retired in 1999. Nicholas always had a passion for jazz and classical music. Nicholas was treasurer and vice-president of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. After moving with his wife Lillian to Knoxville, TN in 2003, Nicholas enjoyed photography of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, hiking, listening to music, playing his piano and his dog, Coco. Nicholas and his wife Lillian moved to Nashville, TN in 2015 to enjoy spending time with their son, Bruce, daughter-in-law, Kari and grandson, Zachary.
