Earned a commission as Second Lieutenant in the US Marine Corps upon graduation in 2000, the first female from The Citadel to do so. Petra?s leadership, performance, and potential for further service has afforded her with varied assignments of increasing responsibility throughout her Marine Corps career. She has served in aviation supply officer billets the Marine Corps, Division Officer in an Aviation Logistics Squadron and Officer-in-Charge of the Aviation Supply Detachment, Assistant Operations Officer of a Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron and Program Manager for Flight Hours for the Commander, Naval Air Forces. LTC Seipel attended the Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School and upon graduation, was selected to attend the Naval Postgraduate and was then assigned as the executive officer of a Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group.
