A nationally recognized leader in ocean engineering for the Department of Defense spanning a career of 30 years.The recipient of numerous awards, he received the highest recognition the Defense Department can bestow on a civilian employee with the Distinguished Civilian Service Award in 1968. The award was the result of him conceiving and directing successful projects that led to providing the US Navy with radically new systems in ocean sciences.
