The funeral for Ernest Benjamin Cox Jr., 54, 214 Bailey Ave., Who died Thursday at Piedmont Medical Center, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Clarence Freeman officiating and the Rev. Barry Eller assisting. Burial will be in Fishing Creek Cemetery in Chester County.
Mr. Cox was a 1953 graduate of The Citadel, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the American Legion.
He owned and operated an automobile body shop and was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Augusta Saye Cox; two sons, Joseph Cox and Ernest Cox III, both of Rock Hill; two daughters, Evelyn Gardner of Rock Hill and Jean Freeman of York; his stepmother, Lillian Cox of Rock Hill; his brother, Robert Cox of Bloomfield, Mich.; three sisters, Martha Woodson of Knoxville, Tenn., Nancy Eggleston of Decatur, Ga., and Julia Wilkerson of Rock Hill; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home.
Memorials can be made to the Bethel Colony of Mercy in Lenoir, N.C.
