HAY, Maurice Entered into eternal rest on the evening of January 25, 2008, Maurice G. Hay. Residence, James Island, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, Monday at two o’clock at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call at J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Downtown Chapel, Sunday from five until seven o’clock. Mr. Hay was born in Charleston, SC, the son of Oliver G. Hay and Lucy Morris Hay. He grew up in the Charleston Orphan House. He graduated from The Citadel and served in the United States Air Force and was a retired Laboratory Technician with MUSC. He was a member of the Charleston Rifle Club and American Legion Post #147. He was an avid golfer and a long time member of Yeamans Hall Country Club. He is survived by two sisters: Anna Lee Amell Postell of Summerville, SC and Janie Mae Claxton of North Charleston, SC; two brothers: J. Creighton Hay and his wife Margaret Hay of James Island, SC and Thomas B. Hay and his wife Carolyn C. Hay of Orangeburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers: Benjamin O. Hay and Paul E. Hay.
