Marzavan Moose II Marzavan Moose II, 81, of Skylyn Place Retirement Center died March 21, 2002, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. A native of Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Marzavan and Pearl McDowell Moose. He was a 1948 graduate of The Citadel, where he was a member of Who s Who in American Colleges and Universities. He was a mortgage banker with Cameron Brown/First Union in Greenville until his retirement in the late 1960s. He was an active volunteer in a number of state and local organizations, including Converse College musical events, The Spartanburg and Greenville Little Theaters and the Music Club of Greenville. He was a member of St. John s Lutheran Church of Spartanburg until he moved to Greenville, where he became an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and was a member of the choir and on the board of the children s day school. He returned to Spartanburg in 1996 to live at Skylyn Place, where he was president of the Resident s Council for a term. He also served as Grandfather to Mrs. Payne s second grade class at Spartanburg Day School for several years. Survivors include a sister, Frances Moose DeWees of Aptos, Calif. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Skylyn Place, 1705 Skylyn Drive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John s Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Marion W. Clark. Committal services will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the services at the church.
