Marshall Earl Hamilton, M.D., age 75, of Brady, Texas passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017, while surrounded by the love of his family in San Angelo. He was born December 29, 1941, in Wichita, Kansas to Robert Hamilton and Avis Clinger Hamilton. He received his undergraduate degree from The Citadel Military College in Charleston, South Carolina and he graduated from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. After medical school, he served in the United States Air Force. He was a Pathologist at the Mesquite Community Hospital in Mesquite for over 15 years and for over 17 years at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana. He was a member of the Texas Society of Pathologists, Texas Medical Association and TEXPAC. He enjoyed reading, hunting and exercise. He believed that order, discipline, mental and physical fitness were very important in one’s life. He was a Presbyterian. He was an amazing father, who had great pride in his family. After retiring, he dedicated his life to nurturing family relationships. He was especially proud of his grandchildren. A memorial service for Marshall Earl Hamilton, M.D., will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 29, 2017 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Dr. Hamilton is survived by his daughters Gillian Hamilton Shields and husband John of Omaha, Nebraska, Larissa Hamilton McBride and husband Heath of Brady, Texas, Dr. Lesley Hamilton of Leander, Texas, son James Hamilton and wife April of Dallas, Texas and daughter Heather Hamilton Graham of Dallas, Texas; brother David Hamilton and wife Pam of Dallas, Texas; sister Gail Williams and husband Gerry of Dallas, Texas and grandchildren Clare, Cavan, Riley and Gavin. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Lana Rollins. Memorial contributions in memory of Marshall Earl Hamilton, M.D., may be made to the Employee Benevolence Center at Shannon Medical Center, 120 East Harris Avenue, San Angelo, Texas 76903.
