Mark Edward Crooks, 54, of Stafford, VA, passed away at home on Monday, November 15, 2010. Mr. Crooks was a retired and decorated US Army Veteran, a member of the local Col. Fielding Lewis Chapter, Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, a leader in the National Area Capital Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, Alumni of the Citadel’s, South Carolina Corps of Cadets, and a longtime member of Mount Ararat Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Patricia and two children, Jessica Francis and Jared Crooks all of Stafford; father, Eugene and stepmother Erin Crooks of Montgomery, AL; brother, Richard Crooks and sister, Sharon Reed both of Prattville, AL; and grandson Caleb Francis. He is predeceased by his mother Ruth Lotshaw Crooks. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Mount Ararat Baptist Church. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
