Larry Smith
MAULDIN – Marion Lawrence Smith, 70, widower of Shirley B. Smith, of 5 Briarstone Court, died March 17, 2008.
Born in Orangeburg, SC, he was the son of the late John Raymond and Ennis Berry Smith. Mr. Smith was a graduate of The Citadel and was an engineer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served in the United States Navy as a lieutenant JG. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Karen S. and Carl Willis of Fountain Inn; a son, Richard Smith of Mauldin; a sister, Harriet Gillam of Orangeburg; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Samuel and Charlotte Willis.
Services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Susan Crowell officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 421 North Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601.
