Lt Col Louis Charles Walsh, USAF, Ret. 74, of Chandler, AZ passed away on November 19, 2015. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and also lived in Amityville, NY graduating from Amityville High School. This Yankee moved south to Charleston, SC to attend The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina to pursue his dream of serving as an officer in the Air Force. He graduated with the Class of ’62, Bravo Company, with a degree in History and later earned an MBA from Pepperdine. His military career spanned 20-years during which he was a B-52 navigator and Intelligence Officer. Upon retirement, he began a civilian career in corporate intelligence and security, first with GE Aerospace (now Lockheed-Martin) and then Honeywell. He lived his life with intense purpose, passion & patriotism. He was a “helluva third baseman”. He was dedicated to his family, friends, the USA, NY Giants and Boston Red Sox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael & Myrtle, and daughter, Tanya. Lou is survived by his wife of 51-years, Karen; daughter, Erin; son-in-law, Ben; and grandson, Caleb; as well as his “brothers” from the Class of 1962, Bravo Co. A memorial service will take place on Sat., Dec. 5th, at 11:00am, St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Tempe, AZ, followed by a private celebration of life.
