Linda Ann Perkins Mims, 67, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired teacher at Berkeley Elementary School, died Saturday morning in a Charleston hospital. Her funeral will be 11:00 AM Tuesday morning, Feb. 28, 2012, in the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner. Interment will follow in St. John’s Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Monday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 112 East Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Mrs. Mims was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Elloree, SC, a daughter of Allen Baxter Perkins and Susie Stroman Perkins. She was a graduate of Berkeley High School and Columbia College, and received her Masters Degree from The Citadel. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, Kappa Kappa Iota, and the Columbia College Alumni Association. Mrs. Mims was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara P. Roach. Surviving are, her husband, George R. Mims; two sons, Richie A. Mims and his wife, Tammy, of Raleigh, and Kevin G. Mims and his wife, Charlotte, of Moncks Corner; and three grandchildren, Joshua Mims, Anna Lauren Mims, and Jacob Mims.
